About this role

Apply litigation expertise to help improve next-generation AI systems through rigorous review, legal analysis, and written feedback. This remote independent contractor opportunity supports a project at the intersection of law and emerging technology, with no previous AI experience required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate, refine, and improve AI-generated legal content, including briefs, arguments, and memoranda.
  • Assess outputs for factual and legal accuracy, analytical rigor, and adherence to professional standards.
  • Provide detailed written feedback on errors, logical inconsistencies, and opportunities to improve legal responses.
  • Apply expert judgment to ambiguous and complex legal issues to support nuanced model calibration.
  • Draft or edit sample legal language and arguments across litigation and practice scenarios.
  • Collaborate asynchronously with a cross-functional project team, incorporate iterative feedback, and communicate clearly in writing.
Qualifications
  • JD from an ABA-accredited U.S. law school and an active license in good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
  • 3 to 15 years of post-JD legal experience, preferably in trial, appellate, or litigation practice.
  • Strong legal reasoning, litigation and practice expertise, analytical rigor, legal writing, and precise professional communication.
  • Judicial clerkship experience in federal or state trial or appellate courts is highly valued.
  • Law journal editing experience or published legal authorship is a plus.
  • Substantial trial experience, federal court admissions, appellate practice, or legal education teaching experience are desirable.
Work Terms
  • Independent contractor engagement.
  • Remote work, limited to candidates located in the United States.
Compensation

$80 to $140 per hour.
