Role Overview
Apply your Welsh language expertise to improve the accuracy, cultural relevance, and quality of written and verbal communications across remote projects. This part-time contract role combines translation, editing, quality assurance, and linguistic guidance.
Key Responsibilities
- Review, edit, and proofread Welsh content for linguistic accuracy and cultural relevance.
- Translate written materials between English and Welsh while meeting project guidelines and deadlines.
- Partner with diverse teams to advise on Welsh language usage and best practices.
- Create Welsh language resources, glossaries, and supporting documentation.
- Provide feedback on tone, style, and the appropriateness of Welsh communications.
- Conduct quality assurance for Welsh language projects to maintain consistency and quality.
- Support verbal and written Welsh communications as needed for project delivery.
Qualifications
- Native or near-native Welsh fluency, with excellent written and spoken command of the language.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and strong attention to detail.
- Demonstrated experience in Welsh translation, localization, or content editing.
- Strong knowledge of Welsh language conventions, idioms, and cultural references.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment with reliability and effective time management.
- Comfort collaborating and sharing feedback with technical and non-technical colleagues.
- A commitment to delivering high-quality work efficiently and on schedule.
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in linguistics, language education, or a related field.
- Experience using CAT tools or digital content management systems.
- Previous participation in Welsh language advocacy or community projects.
Work Terms
- Remote, part-time contract position.
Compensation
- $8 to $16 per hour.
