Role Overview
Help strengthen the accuracy, cultural relevance, and overall quality of Welsh-language communications across a range of remote projects. This part-time contract role applies Welsh linguistic expertise to translation, editing, quality assurance, resource development, and collaboration with diverse teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Review, edit, and proofread Welsh content for linguistic accuracy and cultural relevance.
- Translate written materials between English and Welsh while following project guidelines and deadlines.
- Provide linguistic guidance on Welsh language usage and best practices to cross-functional teams.
- Create Welsh-language resources, glossaries, and documentation.
- Give feedback on the tone, style, and appropriateness of Welsh communications.
- Perform quality assurance for Welsh-language projects to maintain consistency and high standards.
- Support verbal and written Welsh communications as needed to help projects succeed.
Qualifications
- Native or near-native Welsh fluency, with excellent written and spoken command of the language.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and close attention to detail.
- Demonstrated experience in Welsh translation, localization, or content editing.
- Strong knowledge of Welsh language conventions, idioms, and cultural references.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment with reliability and effective time management.
- Comfort collaborating with and sharing feedback with technical and non-technical team members.
- Commitment to producing high-quality work efficiently and on schedule.
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in linguistics, language education, or a related field.
- Experience with CAT tools or digital content management systems.
- Prior involvement in Welsh language advocacy or community projects.
Work Terms
- Remote, part-time contract engagement.
Compensation
- $8 to $16 per hour.
