Role Overview
Record expressive, natural-sounding voice samples that support the development and evaluation of advanced text-to-speech systems for an internal customer-experience AI agent. This opportunity is open to USA-based African American voice actors, including both experienced professionals and newcomers with a clear, expressive voice and a strong recording setup.
Key Responsibilities
- Record high-quality samples from conversational, narrative, instructional, and other script types.
- Deliver clear, natural, expressive speech with strong control of tone, pacing, pronunciation, intonation, diction, and emotional range.
- Maintain consistent voice, accent, and delivery across recording sessions.
- Follow recording requirements for environment, microphone setup, and file formatting.
- Provide multiple takes with different emotions, emphasis, and styles when requested.
Qualifications
- Natural African American English delivery.
- Ability to follow scripts precisely while keeping delivery natural.
- Access to a professional or near-professional recording setup, including a quality microphone, quiet environment, and pop filter.
- Previous voice acting, narration, or broadcast experience is valued but not required.
- Experience with TTS, audiobooks, IVR systems, or AI voice datasets is preferred.
- Familiarity with Audacity, Adobe Audition, Reaper, or similar audio-editing tools is preferred.
- Ability to perform multiple vocal styles, such as conversational, corporate, energetic, and calm, is preferred.
Work Terms
- Remote, hourly engagement for USA-based applicants.
- The initial engagement is one recording session of approximately four hours.
- A second session of similar length may be requested later based on client needs, but is not guaranteed.
- This is an ongoing opening, with new voices considered on a rolling basis.
Compensation
50 to 100 per hour.
Eligibility and Voice Use
- Applicants must be comfortable with their voice being cloned for the client''s internal CX AI agent.
- Recordings will be used only for that specific internal use case and will not be sold, licensed, or reused for any other product, dataset, or purpose.
