About this role

Apply your surety expertise to develop realistic bonding, credit-analysis, and bond-claim scenarios that improve AI reasoning about contractor capacity, obligee requirements, and default resolution.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop scenarios covering bid, performance, and payment bonds; single and aggregate capacity; work-in-progress analysis; indemnity and collateral; commercial and court bonds; and bond-default resolution.
  • Create capacity recommendations, credit analyses, bond approvals or declinations, obligee form reviews, indemnity requirements, and claim-resolution strategies.
  • Write high-quality reference responses that reflect experienced surety-professional judgment.
  • Evaluate AI-generated responses using structured rubrics for credit judgment, capacity reasoning, contract and bond-form accuracy, and realistic default resolution.
  • Identify issues such as misread financial statements, overstated capacity, confusion between surety and insurance obligations, mishandled obligee requirements, and unrealistic default or recovery strategies.
  • Provide written feedback to improve model behavior and participate in onboarding office hours and calibration sessions.
Qualifications
  • At least 2 years of professional experience in surety underwriting, bond production, surety claims, or contract-surety credit analysis.
  • Experience with at least one bond category, including contract surety, commercial surety, court and fiduciary bonds, license and permit bonds, or subdivision bonds.
  • Ability to interpret contractor financial statements and work-in-progress schedules and draw capacity and credit conclusions.
  • Understanding of the three-party surety relationship, including how indemnity, collateral, and subrogation differ from insurance loss payment.
  • Excellent written reasoning, commercial and credit judgment, and close attention to detail.
  • Ability to distinguish surety credit decisions from property-casualty risk underwriting and standard claim adjudication.
Preferred Qualifications
  • AFSB, CPCU, ARM, CPA, or a comparable designation.
  • Experience in both underwriting and surety claims.
  • Experience with AIA or other standard bond forms, or public-works statutory bond requirements.
  • Contractor-default resolution experience involving takeover, tender, financing, or completion agreements.
  • Experience with SBA bond guarantees, funds control, or programs for small and emerging contractors.
Work Terms
  • Remote work available in the United States, Canada, or the United Kingdom.
  • Per-task engagement.
  • Minimum commitment of 20 hours per week, with 40 or more hours preferred.
  • Work begins immediately. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
Compensation
  • 800 per task.
