Role Overview
Apply your STEM expertise to help train next-generation AI systems by reviewing real-world technical research and problem-solving workflows. This remote contractor role focuses on historical session traces from local or agentic AI tools used for research, coding, analysis, experimentation, and other rigorous STEM work. Prior AI experience is not required, but practical experience using these tools in STEM workflows is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Review, curate, and submit historical session traces from tools such as Claude Code, Claude Cowork, Codex, Claude for Life Sciences, and OpenCode.
- Assess the technical depth and integrity of AI-assisted problem-solving, including multi-step reasoning and meaningful human guidance.
- Document research methods, problem-solving approaches, and points of human intervention within session traces.
- Evaluate the effectiveness and limitations of agentic AI tools in STEM research contexts, identifying opportunities for improvement and model training.
- Write clear explanations of session processes, outputs, and validation steps.
- Provide constructive feedback on AI performance, accuracy, and reasoning using professional STEM judgment.
Qualifications
- Advanced academic or professional background in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics.
- Hands-on experience using local or agentic AI tools for research or technical projects, beyond web-based chatbots.
- Access to and familiarity with historical session data from STEM or technical workflows.
- Skills in STEM research, agentic AI, technical research, scientific reasoning, problem solving, data analysis, code debugging, output validation, AI evaluation, research methods, and technical writing.
- Ability to guide, challenge, and validate AI-generated outputs in complex problem-solving scenarios.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with iterative research methods, AI evaluation, and output validation is highly valued.
Work Terms
- Remote independent contractor engagement.
Compensation
- $80 to $100 per hour.
