Physics Expert in Gravitation, Cosmology and Astrophysics

Role Overview

Apply research-level expertise in gravitation, cosmology, and astrophysics to help train next-generation AI systems through rigorous real-world physics analysis. The work centers on a frontier benchmark covering Dynamical Chern-Simons gravity, Palatini tetrad formalism, FRW cosmology, quadratic inflation, and related phenomena. No previous AI experience is required.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop detailed analytical and numerical solutions for first-order Palatini gravity problems, including tetrad and spin connection methods.
• Calculate and evaluate Pontryagin density contributions in extended gravity theories.
• Formulate, solve, and interpret Friedmann ODEs with torsion for cosmological models.
• Integrate coupled nonlinear ODE systems using advanced numerical methods and critically assess the results.
• Use Planck-unit normalization consistently across theoretical and computational work.
• Contribute high-quality domain input that improves how AI systems learn, reason, and perform.

Qualifications

• Advanced academic background, PhD or equivalent, in physics with an emphasis on gravitation, cosmology, or astrophysics.
• Hands-on experience with first-order Palatini gravity, tetrad and spin connection formalisms, and higher-order curvature corrections.
• Ability to derive, solve, and interpret nonlinear ODE systems relevant to cosmology and gravitational physics.
• Familiarity with Pontryagin density, Chern-Simons modifications, and their physical implications.
• Experience applying Planck-unit normalization and interpreting theoretical physical models.

Work Terms

Remote independent contractor engagement. Depending on your subfield experience, assignments may be scoped as Solver, Auditor, or Adjudicator roles with corresponding deliverables.

Compensation

$80 to $160 per hour.
