Software Engineer (Electron.js)

Build reliable, high-fidelity desktop productivity infrastructure for a globally distributed workforce. You will help design and scale a cross-platform time intelligence application for macOS and Windows that thousands of professionals use every day.

• Architect and evolve an Electron.js desktop agent with strong performance and a minimal resource footprint.
• Build real-time timekeeping capabilities with precise event tracking and background execution.
• Implement efficient, privacy-conscious collection of system signals, including keyboard, mouse, and application usage.
• Develop offline-first data pipelines with dependable background synchronization and conflict resolution.
• Integrate distributed backend services and internal APIs for analytics and reporting.
• Improve runtime performance, memory efficiency, and fault tolerance.
• Partner with product, design, and backend teams to deliver features that improve user productivity.

• At least 3 years of experience building production desktop applications with Electron.js.
• Strong JavaScript, TypeScript, and Node.js proficiency.
• Experience designing cross-platform macOS and Windows systems with consistent behavior.
• Hands-on experience with real-time tracking, event streams, or activity-monitoring systems.
• Familiarity with OS-level APIs for capturing user and system interactions.
• Deep understanding of desktop performance optimization, strong debugging skills, and the ability to reason through edge cases in distributed and offline systems.

• Experience building productivity, monitoring, or telemetry-driven applications.
• Knowledge of native OS integrations, including permissions, background processes, and system hooks.
• Understanding of security and privacy considerations for user activity tracking.
• Familiarity with Electron auto-update systems and release management.

• Listed annual compensation range: $150, 000 to $220, 000.
• National base salary range for this full-time role: $130, 000 to $160, 000 USD.
• Equity compensation is available to all employees. Performance-based bonuses may also be available depending on the role and applicable policies.
