About this role

Apply deep mechanical simulation and computer-aided engineering expertise to improve next-generation AI systems through realistic technical workflows, examples, and feedback. This remote independent contractor role is designed for STEM professionals who use AI coding agents as practical tools in complex CAE work. Prior AI experience is not required.

Role Overview

Your domain knowledge will help AI systems learn, reason, and perform in real-world mechanical engineering scenarios. The work emphasizes advanced use of AI coding agents as sequence generators, rather than basic chatbot-style coding assistance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide detailed walkthroughs of using AI coding agents, including Codex, Claude Science, Claude Code, and Claude Cowork, for complex mechanical engineering simulation and CAE tasks.
  • Demonstrate and document real applications involving large codebases, difficult debugging work, and end-to-end technical solutions.
  • Describe and analyze engineering problems, design challenges, and architectural changes addressed through AI-generated code sequences.
  • Contribute clear written and verbal feedback on the performance and limitations of AI tools in mechanical simulation and CAE contexts.
  • Curate representative examples of advanced AI-agent workflows, explaining the approach, rationale, and technical complexity behind each example.
  • Collaborate asynchronously with project leads and communicate input through clear, effective channels.
Qualifications
  • Extensive hands-on experience with simulation- and CAE-heavy mechanical engineering assignments.
  • Strong knowledge of computer-aided engineering and mechanical simulation.
  • Proficiency using Codex, Claude Science, Claude Code, and Claude Cowork as coding sequence generators in technical scenarios.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply AI agents to sophisticated engineering challenges, including ambiguous requirements, large-scale debugging, and architectural overhauls.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to turn complex technical workflows into concise documentation and actionable feedback.
  • Current involvement in STEM work and experience using AI agents to support real-world engineering problem-solving.
  • Experience documenting technical workflows and providing insights that support technology improvement or training.
  • Familiarity with AI-driven engineering tools and a record of experimenting with and adapting to new technologies.
Work Terms
  • Remote independent contractor engagement.
  • Asynchronous collaboration with project leads.
Compensation

$80 to $100 per hour.
