About this role

Role Overview

Help advance large language models by creating and evaluating high-quality performance engineering training data for AI systems. You will apply hands-on expertise in low-level systems optimization, compiler engineering, and runtime performance to develop rigorous tasks, solutions, and evaluation materials.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support research and engineering teams by addressing knowledge gaps in systems-level optimization, compiler engineering, and runtime performance.
  • Create challenging, domain-relevant performance engineering tasks across multiple specializations and produce accurate, well-structured solutions.
  • Assess tasks and solutions, providing clear written technical feedback.
  • Develop detailed guidelines, rubrics, and evaluation frameworks for systems design quality in AI workloads.
  • Partner with subject matter experts to maintain consistency and accuracy in training data.

Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of dedicated professional experience in performance engineering, systems programming, or low-level optimization.
  • Deep practical expertise in C++, Python, or Rust. Familiarity with the other languages is strongly preferred.
  • A demonstrated record of measurable production-system improvements, such as reduced latency, improved throughput, or optimized memory use.
  • Demonstrable career progression.
  • Strong written communication skills and the ability to explain complex technical decisions clearly.

Work Terms

  • United States-based, hourly W-2 employment.
  • Full-time, 40 hours per week during weekdays.
  • This engagement requires exclusive availability, with no conflicting or additional engagements.

Compensation

$70 to $110 per hour.
