Role Overview
Apply mechanical engineering expertise to develop, solve, review, and validate AI training tasks spanning structural, thermal, mechanical, and multiphysics engineering. You will turn physical requirements into computational models, run and assess simulations, and determine whether designs and analyses meet relevant physical and design constraints.
Key Responsibilities
- Solve and validate engineering problems involving design, analysis, simulation, testing, and R&D.
- Translate physical systems and requirements into analytical or computational models.
- Create or revise geometry, meshes, materials, loads, contacts, constraints, and solver inputs.
- Perform structural, thermal, dynamic, fatigue, buckling, vibration, and related analyses.
- Use Python for model preparation, simulation automation, parameter sweeps, optimization, postprocessing, and verification.
- Evaluate stress, strain, displacement, temperature, heat flow, deformation, frequency response, safety factors, and other relevant outputs.
- Compare simulation results with hand calculations, experimental data, reference cases, and expected physical behavior.
- Diagnose invalid geometry, mesh issues, convergence failures, incorrect boundary conditions, and unrealistic results.
- Review AI generated engineering solutions for reasoning errors, incorrect assumptions, and violations of physical constraints.
- Create clear, reproducible reference solutions and objective validation checks.
- Improve designs for performance, mass, strength, stiffness, thermal behavior, reliability, and manufacturability.
Qualifications
- MS or PhD in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline, or a BS in Mechanical Engineering plus 1 to 2 years of relevant professional experience in mechanical design, analysis, simulation, testing, or R&D.
- Strong command of applied mechanics and mechanical engineering fundamentals.
- Experience building analytical, computational, or simulation based engineering solutions.
- Practical proficiency with Python.
- Experience with at least one mechanical engineering, geometry, meshing, or simulation tool operated through a command line interface, scripting interface, configuration files, or programmatic API.
- Ability to select and justify loads, boundary conditions, material properties, physical assumptions, and model fidelity.
- Experience limited solely to graphical user interfaces is not sufficient.

Compensation
