Role Overview
Apply your legal expertise to help improve next-generation AI systems through high-quality analysis of legal documents. This remote contractor role centers on reviewing sample and template contracts, assessing legal risk, and explaining complex concepts in accessible language. No prior AI experience is required. All materials will be public or synthetic, with no confidential or proprietary client information used.
Key Responsibilities
- Review sample or template contracts and other legal documents for clarity, enforceability, and risk.
- Identify, analyze, and flag problematic or high-risk clauses with detailed written commentary.
- Prepare concise memos outlining findings, key risk areas, and recommended document improvements.
- Conduct basic legal research using public sources to support analysis and recommendations.
- Explain legal concepts clearly for non-lawyer audiences.
- Follow confidentiality and conflict-of-interest protocols while working only with public or synthetic data.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor degree and active or lapsed bar membership in any U.S. jurisdiction.
- At least 4 years of legal practice experience, particularly in document-intensive work such as contracts, compliance, or transactions.
- Demonstrated skill in contract drafting, contract review, and risk assessment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to make legal concepts understandable to varied audiences.
- Meticulous attention to detail and a methodical approach to legal analysis.
- Commitment to confidentiality and careful conflict-of-interest management.
- Experience with, or interest in, technology, AI, or legal operations is a plus.
Work Terms
- Remote, independent contractor engagement.
Compensation
- $80 to $180 per hour.
