Role Overview

Apply advanced chemistry expertise to create high-quality training inputs and benchmark answers that help next-generation AI systems learn, reason, and perform. This remote contractor role values deep subject-matter knowledge and clear scientific communication; prior AI experience is not required. You will contribute authoritative explanations, evaluate chemistry content for scientific accuracy, and produce exemplar responses that guide model behavior.

Key Responsibilities
  • Produce authoritative, accurate, and well-explained responses to advanced chemistry queries intended to improve AI model performance, prioritizing clarity and depth.
  • Review and evaluate chemistry questions, data, and proposed solutions to ensure scientific accuracy, completeness, and alignment with current best practices.
  • Develop comprehensive explanations and justifications across both foundational and specialized chemistry topics.
  • Create exemplary "golden responses" that serve as benchmarks for future model outputs and training data.
  • Document the context and rationale behind answers to support model interpretability and future annotation work.
  • Collaborate with annotation leads and project managers to refine task requirements and maintain high quality standards.
  • Participate in remote discussions or workshops to clarify objectives and align with the contributor community.
Qualifications
  • PhD in Chemistry or a closely related scientific field, with robust expertise in both foundational and advanced topics.
  • Advanced chemistry knowledge and demonstrated ability to communicate complex concepts precisely in writing and verbally.
  • Experience developing, reviewing, or publishing scientific, technical, or educational chemistry materials, such as research articles, curricula, industry reports, or peer reviews.
  • Familiarity with multiple subdisciplines, for example organic, inorganic, physical, analytical, and materials chemistry, and the ability to adapt explanations for varied audiences.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to scientific accuracy and methodological rigor.
  • Experience with AI, data annotation, or digital content development projects is advantageous but not required.
  • Strong collaboration skills, especially in remote or cross-functional settings.
Work Terms

  • Compensation is output-based, paid per task that meets project specifications. Minimum submission requirements apply.

Compensation
  • Pay rate: $80.00 to $90.00 per hour.

Eligibility
  • Must be able to work as an independent contractor in a remote capacity.
  • Availability to begin work quickly is preferred; selected experts should be ready to start tasks within the start timeline below.
Application Process and Start Timeline
