About this role
Use advanced chemistry knowledge to create, solve, and explain postgraduate and engineering-level chemistry problems that help fine-tune large language models. Work will combine textual reasoning and visual annotations to produce high-quality training data and model feedback, while learning to use AI tools to improve analytical workflows.
Key Responsibilities- Generate and solve advanced chemistry problems, including postgraduate and engineering college level questions.
- Create clear, step-by-step explanations for complex topics across stoichiometry, thermodynamics, organic chemistry, electrochemistry, and chemical equilibrium.
- Produce and annotate visual content, such as chemical structures, reaction mechanisms, equations, diagrams, energy profiles, and reaction progress visuals.
- Analyze and explain complex organic reaction mechanisms, providing both textual rationale and annotated structures.
- Present solutions to equilibrium problems with supporting visuals and energy diagrams.
- Provide constructive, detailed feedback and annotations that improve model outputs and training quality.
- Educational level: Strong foundation in chemistry at a level comparable to PhD program expectations; candidates with a Master’s or PhD in Chemistry or a closely related field are appropriate.
- Preferred: Candidates currently pursuing a PhD or postdoctoral position in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, or a related discipline are eligible and encouraged to apply.
- Analytical skills: Demonstrated research and problem solving ability on advanced chemistry topics.
- Communication: Excellent written English comprehension and the ability to explain complex concepts clearly and simply, using text and visuals.
- Feedback skills: Able to provide constructive, detailed annotations and critique targeted at improving model behavior.
- Creative thinking: Comfortable using lateral and visual thinking to convey chemical concepts and craft novel problem sets.
- Remote work readiness: Self-motivated, able to work independently and collaborate in a distributed setting.
- Technical setup: Reliable desktop or laptop computer and a stable internet connection.
- Location: Remote.
- Engagement type: Independent contractor / freelancer assignment.
- Contract specifics: No employer-provided medical or paid leave. Contract extensions may be offered based on performance and project needs.
- Fully remote work.
- Opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge AI projects and work with teams that develop and fine-tune large language models.
- Potential for contract renewal depending on performance and project availability.
Candidates with Master’s or PhD level chemistry training are suitable. Those currently enrolled in or holding PhD or postdoctoral appointments in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, or related fields are specifically encouraged to apply.
How to ApplyIf your background matches the qualifications above and you are interested in contributing to model fine-tuning and high-quality chemistry content creation, please submit an application for consideration. Candidates meeting the stated requirements are encouraged to apply.
