Bilingual Vietnamese PhD Scientist for AI Safety

Role Overview

Help improve the safety of advanced AI models by applying your scientific expertise to specialized technical topics in Vietnamese. You will evaluate and strengthen how models respond to scientific content, with training provided for the workflow, so prior AI or machine learning experience is not required.

Key Responsibilities

• Create expert-level Vietnamese prompts across specialized scientific subjects.
• Review and annotate model responses for scientific accuracy, helpfulness, and appropriate treatment of sensitive content.
• Use structured guidelines to classify prompts and conversations.
• Apply scientific judgment to help models handle specialized Vietnamese technical topics more safely.

Qualifications

• PhD in chemistry, biology, or a closely related field, either in progress or completed.
• Ability to develop prompts covering chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear subject areas.
• Native or near-native Vietnamese fluency and business-level written English.
• Deep familiarity with current laboratory and computational techniques in your scientific specialty.
• Sound judgment regarding scientific safety and responsible handling of dual-use information.

Preferred Background

• Based in Vietnam or elsewhere in Southeast Asia, although applicants from other locations are welcome.
• Chemistry-based radiological or nuclear expertise, including radiochemistry, nuclear chemistry, energetic materials, or radiation physics.
• Demonstrated depth in a focused specialty, such as organic or inorganic synthesis, molecular biology, microbiology, virology, or genetics.
• Research or coursework in chemical safety and security, biosafety and biosecurity, or hazardous-material handling.
• Experience reviewing, grading, or red-teaming technical content.

Work Terms

• Remote, hourly engagement.
• Immediate start date.

Compensation

• 19 to 23 per hour.
