Role Overview
Use your doctoral-level scientific expertise and bilingual Japanese and English communication skills to help improve the safety of advanced AI systems. You will assess how models address specialized scientific topics in Japanese, with training provided for the evaluation workflow and no prior AI or machine-learning experience required.
Key Responsibilities- Create expert-level Japanese prompts covering specialized scientific subjects.
- Evaluate and annotate AI responses for scientific accuracy, usefulness, and appropriate treatment of sensitive material.
- Apply structured guidelines to classify prompts and conversations.
- Use scientific expertise to evaluate and strengthen model performance on technical Japanese-language content.
- Ongoing or completed PhD in chemistry, biology, or a closely related field, with sufficient depth to develop prompts involving chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear topics.
- Native or near-native Japanese fluency and business-level written English.
- Strong familiarity with current laboratory and computational methods in your specialty.
- Sound judgment regarding scientific safety and responsible handling of dual-use information.
- Based in Japan or elsewhere in East Asia, although candidates located in other regions are welcome.
- Chemistry-based radiological or nuclear expertise, including radiochemistry, nuclear chemistry, energetic materials, or radiation physics.
- Deep expertise in a specific specialty, such as organic or inorganic synthesis, molecular biology, microbiology, virology, or genetics.
- Research or coursework related to chemical safety and security, biosafety and biosecurity, or hazardous-materials handling.
- Experience reviewing, grading, or red-teaming technical content.
- Remote, with East Asia preferred.
- Hourly engagement.
- Immediate start date.
$68 to $72 per hour.
