Role Overview
Apply microbiology expertise to improve how next-generation AI systems learn and reason. In this contract role you will convert real-world microbiological knowledge into clear, high-quality inputs and evaluations that shape model behavior, focusing on bacteria, fungi, and related organisms. No prior AI experience is required, domain knowledge and scientific rigor are the priorities.
Key Responsibilities- Investigate and analyze development, morphology, and behavior of microscopic organisms, including bacteria, fungi, and algae.
- Support studies on relationships between microorganisms and disease, contributing to medical microbiology-related tasks.
- Assess effects of antibiotics and other agents on microbial populations to inform model accuracy.
- Document experimental findings and procedures with clarity suitable for AI training data.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to maintain scientific rigor and data integrity during AI development.
- Provide written and verbal subject-matter expertise on microbiological phenomena and their implications for computational contexts.
- Apply rubrics and established evaluation criteria to assess data quality and support AI training workflows.
- Bachelor''s degree or higher in Biology, Microbiology, Chemistry, or a related field.
- Extensive knowledge of bacterial, fungal, and algal systems, including microbial structure and physiology.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical and interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Proven ability to document processes and findings clearly for integration into AI systems.
- Comfort working independently in a fully remote, digital-first environment, with attention to detail and commitment to scientific accuracy.
- Required skills explicitly include: Biology, Microbiology, Chemistry, bacteria, fungi.
- Prior experience developing or applying rubrics in scientific or educational contexts.
- Experience with AI, machine learning, or annotation projects related to biology or microbiology.
