About this role

Role Overview

Apply hands-on cellular and molecular biology expertise to help train and evaluate next-generation AI systems through precise, real-world scientific input. This remote contractor role centers on defining and assessing expert-level biology content, with particular value placed on wet lab and CRISPR experience. Prior AI experience is not required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, optimize, and execute CRISPR-based gene-editing experiments.
  • Develop cloning strategies that produce new constructs and cell lines.
  • Perform genotyping, PCR-based assays, and sequence analysis to validate genetic modifications.
  • Design synthetic DNA and RNA sequences and contribute screening logic for high-throughput workflows.
  • Apply molecular biology methods to study molecules, organelles, and cellular organization.
  • Translate experimental data into structured formats for AI model training in collaboration with interdisciplinary teams.
  • Document procedures and results clearly and accurately to support reproducibility and knowledge transfer.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor''s degree or higher in Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, or a related field.
  • Expertise in CRISPR technology and gene-editing workflows.
  • Extensive practical experience with cloning, genotyping, and PCR-based assays.
  • Strong knowledge of sequence design and molecular screening strategies.
  • Ability to research and analyze molecular and organelle functions within cells.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and close attention to scientific detail.
  • Demonstrated commitment to data accuracy, workflow optimization, and experimental rigor.
  • Self-directed, collaborative approach with experience contributing to high-impact research projects.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience developing or evaluating rubrics, particularly for AI or data-annotation workflows.
  • Familiarity with designing datasets or protocols for AI training and human-review processes.
  • Experience collaborating with interdisciplinary or remote teams on data-driven biology projects.

Work Terms

  • Remote independent contractor engagement.

Compensation

  • $70 to $90 per hour.
