About this role
Develop, validate, and automate advanced macroeconomic time series models in EViews to produce reliable forecasts and clear economic insights that inform policy and business decisions. This remote contract role focuses on rigorous modeling, reproducible forecasting workflows, and concise communication of statistical results to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities- Design and implement time series models in EViews, including VAR, VECM, ARIMA, and cointegration frameworks.
- Perform rigorous model diagnostics, stability testing, and forecast accuracy assessment to ensure robustness and reliability.
- Automate forecasting workflows and EViews scripts to improve efficiency and scalability of the modeling process.
- Translate statistical outputs into actionable macroeconomic insights for technical teams, policy makers, and other stakeholders.
- Produce precise written documentation and reports explaining modeling approaches, assumptions, and results.
- Collaborate with the customer team to integrate modeling results into broader economic narratives and recommendations.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of macroeconomic modeling best practices and EViews software updates.
- Extensive hands-on experience with EViews, including scripting and automation features.
- Proven track record building, estimating, and validating time series models, especially VAR, VECM, ARIMA, and cointegration models.
- Deep familiarity with model diagnostics, stability tests, and forecasting accuracy measures.
- Strong quantitative background, with the ability to explain complex modeling processes clearly in writing and verbally.
- Demonstrated experience automating modeling and forecasting workflows.
- Ability to extract economic meaning from statistical outputs and present findings insightfully.
- Self-driven, detail-oriented, and effective at remote collaboration.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree in Economics, Econometrics, Applied Statistics, or a related field.
- Prior experience supporting central banks, policy institutions, or financial sector clients with macroeconomic modeling.
- Familiarity with additional econometric software or programming languages, for example R, Python, or Stata.

- Rate, $35 to $100 per hour.
