About this role
Build, validate, and automate advanced macroeconomic time-series and forecasting models using EViews, producing reliable forecasts and clear economic insights that inform organizational decisions. This is a remote contract role paying $35 to $100 per hour, suited to a modeler with strong quantitative skills, EViews scripting experience, and the ability to communicate technical results to diverse stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities- Design and implement time-series models in EViews, including VAR, VECM, ARIMA, and cointegration frameworks.
- Perform rigorous model diagnostics, stability testing, and validation to ensure robustness and reliable forecasts.
- Automate forecasting workflows and scripting within EViews for efficiency and repeatability.
- Translate statistical outputs into clear, actionable macroeconomic insights for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Document modeling methodologies and results in concise written reports.
- Collaborate with the customer’s team to integrate model outputs into broader economic narratives and policy or business recommendations.
- Stay current with macroeconomic modeling best practices and updates to EViews software.
- Extensive hands-on experience with EViews, including scripting and automation features.
- Proven expertise building, estimating, and validating time-series models, especially VAR, VECM, ARIMA, and cointegration models.
- Deep knowledge of model diagnostics, stability tests, and forecasting accuracy measures.
- Strong quantitative background with the ability to explain complex modeling processes in clear written and verbal form.
- Demonstrated success automating modeling and forecasting workflows.
- Ability to extract economic meaning from statistical outputs and present findings insightfully.
- Self-driven, detail-oriented, and experienced in remote collaboration.
- Preferred: advanced degree in Economics, Econometrics, Applied Statistics, or a related field.
- Preferred: prior experience supporting central banks, policy institutions, or financial-sector clients.
- Preferred: familiarity with additional tools such as R, Python, or Stata.
