About this role
Role Overview
Apply your country-specific central bank expertise to create forecasting and research data that helps evaluate and improve AI models performing real-world macroeconomic analysis. You will assess policy communications as they were known at a defined point in time, documenting the judgment a strong market practitioner would have reached without hindsight.
Key Responsibilities
- Interpret statements, meeting minutes, speeches, and changes in language issued by one specific non-G7 central bank, working in the institution''s source language.
- Compare current communications with prior guidance and prevailing market expectations.
- Assign calibrated dovish-to-hawkish assessments and explain the likely implications for interest rates, foreign exchange, and equities.
- Review and grade model-generated macro analyses against your own professional standard.
Qualifications
- Former economist or adviser at the relevant central bank, or a senior local rates or FX strategist who covered that institution through multiple policy cycles.
- Professional fluency in the central bank''s source language.
- Deep understanding of the bank''s reaction function and communication style, with experience interpreting its communications in real time.
- Typically 8+ years of directly relevant experience, or compelling evidence of equivalent performance.
- Relevant backgrounds may include the specific central bank, the BIS, IMF, leading local institutions, top emerging-markets teams at global banks, or established macro funds. Recognized institutional experience is a useful initial signal, but selection is ultimately based on direct expertise and work-sample performance.
Work Terms
- Hourly engagement focused on one specific non-G7 central bank. Broad global macro experience alone is not sufficient.
- All work must follow strict point-in-time discipline, using only information available at the stated evidence cutoff.
Compensation
- $150 to $250 per hour.
Eligibility
- Tasks must be completed without hindsight, data leakage, confidential information, or material non-public information.
