Life Sciences Research Assistant

Role Overview

Apply life sciences expertise to help train next-generation AI systems by creating expert-level evaluation tasks based on authentic research artifacts and technical challenges. Your work will test AI agents with realistic datasets, multi-step problem-solving, and rigorous rubrics that reflect advanced scientific practice. Prior AI experience is not required.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop complex life sciences evaluation tasks, including experimental design critiques, protocol analyses, and primary data interpretation.
• Source and synthesize raw experimental data, laboratory protocols, technical literature, and supplementary materials.
• Define and document the appropriate methodological approach and biological interpretation for each task.
• Create comprehensive, multi-item evaluation rubrics focused on methodological rigor, data interpretation, and source fidelity.
• Ensure assignments reflect the nuance, ambiguity, and depth of real-world scientific work rather than simplified or hypothetical scenarios.
• Collaborate asynchronously with project coordinators to refine deliverables.

Qualifications

• Bachelor''s or Master''s degree in biology, biomedical sciences, biochemistry, or a closely related field.
• At least 2 years of hands-on research or laboratory experience involving primary data analysis and scientific protocols.
• Demonstrated ability to work in protocol-driven, multi-source scientific workflows.
• Strong scientific reasoning, source synthesis, methodological evaluation, and data interpretation skills.
• Strong written English skills and experience drafting or reviewing scientific documentation.
• Comfort handling CSVs, spreadsheets, PDFs, and technical documents.
• Close attention to detail and a commitment to rubric fidelity and objective task design.

Work Terms

• Remote contract engagement.
• Work is completed on an output basis, with payment tied to tasks that meet project specifications.
• Completion time varies based on experience and workflow.
• Minimum weekly task-submission requirements apply.
• Selected candidates should be ready to begin their first tasks within 24 to 48 hours after completing the required selection and onboarding steps.

Compensation

Compensation is stated at $30 to $50 per hour, with pay structured per qualifying task submitted according to project specifications.
