Life Sciences Research Assistant

Help shape next-generation AI systems by turning real-world life sciences expertise into rigorous, expert-level evaluation tasks. This remote contract role focuses on creating authentic research challenges that test how AI systems reason through complex scientific work.

• Design and author advanced life sciences evaluation tasks, including experimental-design critiques, protocol analyses, and primary-data interpretation.
• Source and synthesize raw experimental data, laboratory protocols, technical literature, and supplementary materials.
• Document the appropriate methodological approach and biological interpretation for each task.
• Create detailed, multi-item rubrics that assess methodological rigor, data interpretation, and source fidelity.
• Ensure tasks reflect the ambiguity, nuance, and depth of real scientific practice rather than simplified or hypothetical scenarios.
• Collaborate asynchronously with project coordinators to refine deliverables based on feedback.

• Bachelor''s or Master''s degree in biology, biomedical sciences, biochemistry, or a closely related field.
• At least 2 years of hands-on research or laboratory experience involving primary-data analysis and scientific protocols.
• Experience with protocol-driven, multi-source scientific workflows.
• Strong scientific reasoning, source synthesis, methodological evaluation, data interpretation, and rubric-development skills.
• Strong written English skills and experience drafting or reviewing scientific documentation.
• Comfort working with CSVs, spreadsheets, PDFs, and technical documents.
• Close attention to detail and a commitment to objective, high-quality task design.

• Remote independent contractor engagement.
• Work is completed on an output-based basis, and the time required per task may vary by experience and workflow.
• Minimum submission requirements apply, including a required minimum number of task submissions per week.
• No previous AI experience is required, life sciences domain expertise is the priority.

• $30 to $50 per hour.
• Payment is issued per task that meets project specifications.

• Selected candidates complete onboarding before beginning work.
• Be prepared to start initial tasks within 24 to 48 hours after onboarding is completed.
