Role Overview

Apply your Canadian French transcription expertise to review, correct, and annotate machine-generated speech transcripts that will train next-generation AI systems. This remote contractor role focuses on producing high-quality, regionally accurate French-language data, adding metadata and annotations, and providing actionable feedback to improve model performance. No prior AI experience is required; domain knowledge and transcription skill are the priority.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review, transcribe, and correct machine-generated French-language transcripts, ensuring accuracy and linguistic integrity specific to Canadian French.
  • Add and refine metadata tags and annotations to audio and text files to improve organization and searchability.
  • Identify and resolve inconsistencies or errors in automatic transcriptions with close attention to detail.
  • Collaborate with the customer team to provide feedback on language nuances, cultural context, and transcription best practices.
  • Maintain meticulous documentation of changes and annotations according to project standards.
  • Provide constructive written and verbal feedback to help improve project workflows and AI model outputs.
  • Adhere to strict confidentiality and quality guidelines set by the customer team.
Qualifications
  • Fluent proficiency in Canadian French, including strong grammar, spelling, and knowledge of regional vocabulary.
  • Proven experience in transcription and editing, especially correcting machine-generated content.
  • Experience applying metadata tags and creating detailed annotations for audio or text data.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and quality control.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, and a collaborative, feedback-oriented approach.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Proficiency with transcription tools, software, or platforms is highly advantageous.
  • Preferred: background as an audio engineer, data annotator, or professional transcriber; prior work with Canadian French language data; familiarity with AI training workflows or language data pipelines.

Compensation

Pay range: $15.00 to $25.00 per hour.
