Role Overview
Apply hands-on electrical engineering expertise to analyze, evaluate, and resolve complex electrical design and system-level challenges across a range of applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, analyze, and evaluate electrical designs against technical requirements, specifications, and system-performance needs.
- Design and review electrical systems, circuits, equipment, and components, including distribution and power systems, control panels, switchgear, and motor control systems.
- Interpret electrical schematics, single-line and wiring diagrams, layouts, equipment specifications, and technical documentation.
- Perform load-flow, voltage-drop, short-circuit, protection-coordination, and equipment-sizing calculations.
- Assess design alternatives, engineering trade-offs, and system performance, identifying potential issues and improvements.
- Validate designs, calculations, assumptions, and technical approaches against project requirements and engineering standards.
Qualifications
- Hands-on industry experience as an Electrical Design Engineer, Electrical Engineer, or Electrical Design Specialist.
- Bachelor''s, Master''s, or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Strong knowledge of electrical system design, power systems, and engineering principles.
- Practical experience designing or evaluating electrical systems for industrial facilities, infrastructure, manufacturing, energy, renewable energy, building services, or energy storage.
- Experience with low- and medium-voltage systems, electrical protection, equipment sizing, and power distribution.
- Experience with AutoCAD Electrical, ETAP, SKM Power Tools, EPLAN, Revit, or comparable electrical design and engineering tools is a plus.
- Practical experience applying electrical engineering principles to real-world electrical systems is strongly preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
- An advanced degree or professional engineering certification.
- Experience conducting power-system studies, including load-flow, short-circuit, and protection-coordination analysis.
- Experience specifying and sizing transformers, switchgear, cables, motors, and protection equipment.
- Experience with industrial automation, instrumentation, or control systems.
- Experience designing electrical systems for manufacturing facilities, data centers, renewable energy projects, or other complex infrastructure.
- Familiarity with IEC, IEEE, NEC, or comparable electrical codes and standards.
- Experience reviewing vendor drawings, equipment datasheets, technical submittals, and engineering designs.
Work Terms
- Remote, hourly engagement.
- Work focuses on technical problem-solving, electrical design analysis, and expert evaluation across electrical engineering, electrical design, power systems, and industrial electrical systems.
Compensation
$70 to $85 per hour.
Eligibility
