About this role

Apply your criminal law expertise to help improve next-generation legal AI systems through careful analysis, clear legal reasoning, and practical feedback. This remote contractor opportunity focuses on translating real-world criminal law knowledge into high-quality training materials. Prior AI experience is not required.

Role Overview

You will analyze criminal law materials and contribute expert input that helps AI systems learn, reason, and perform more effectively in legal contexts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze and interpret criminal law documents, including statutes, case law, court filings, and case materials, to identify relevant insights.
  • Review and edit complex legal documents for accuracy, clarity, and compliance with established standards.
  • Summarize legal arguments, decisions, and procedural issues for legal AI training.
  • Translate complex legal concepts and reasoning into concise, accessible language.
  • Provide actionable feedback to improve the accuracy and real-world applicability of legal content.
  • Stay current on criminal law developments, including statutes and case law, and apply updated knowledge to project work.
  • Collaborate remotely with cross-functional teams through digital platforms to meet project milestones.
Qualifications
  • JD or LLM from an accredited law school and active bar membership.
  • Substantial criminal law practice experience, particularly at a BigLaw or major law firm.
  • Demonstrated legal research, analysis, writing, and editing experience in criminal matters.
  • Ability to review and synthesize large volumes of legal information with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain nuanced legal issues clearly.
  • Sound ethical judgment and a commitment to high professional standards.
  • Interest or experience in legal technology and adaptability to digital tools for remote collaboration.
Work Terms
  • Remote independent contractor engagement.
Compensation
  • $140 to $400 per hour.
