About this role

Evaluate how AI systems handle real questions of Japanese law by reviewing and comparing responses from two large language model platforms. This remote, hourly engagement is suited to a corporate/M&A lawyer who can apply strong legal judgment, clear written Japanese, and consistent rubric-based analysis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Run the same legal prompts through two AI platforms.
  • Compare the resulting responses side by side.
  • Assess each response using the provided standardized rubric.
  • Submit concise written feedback for every evaluation.

Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of primarily law-firm experience in corporate/M&A or transactional practice, with 3 or more years preferred.
  • Candidates currently working in-house are eligible only if they moved in-house within the past 2 years and previously practiced at a law firm.
  • Qualified to practise law in Japan, with a strong command of Japanese corporate and commercial law.
  • Native or fluent Japanese, including precise written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, follow a rubric, and meet deadlines.

Work Terms

  • Remote role based in Japan.
  • Hourly engagement with an initial commitment of approximately 10 hours.
  • All work is subject to a non-disclosure agreement.

Compensation

  • 140 to 150 per hour.
