About this role

Apply your Japanese litigation expertise to evaluate how AI systems respond to real legal questions. You will review side-by-side answers from two AI platforms, assess their quality using a provided rubric, and deliver clear written feedback.

Key Responsibilities
  • Run the same legal prompts through two AI language-model platforms.
  • Compare both responses side by side.
  • Score each response against the standardized evaluation rubric provided.
  • Submit concise written feedback for every evaluation.
Qualifications
  • At least 2 years of primarily law-firm experience in litigation, disputes, or contentious practice. Three or more years is preferred.
  • If currently working in-house, you must have moved in-house within the past 2 years and previously practised at a law firm.
  • Qualified to practise in Japan as a bengoshi or registered foreign lawyer, gaikokuho jimu bengoshi.
  • Strong knowledge of Japanese litigation and procedural law.
  • Native or fluent Japanese with precise written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, follow a rubric, and meet deadlines.
Work Terms
  • Remote role based in Japan.
  • Hourly engagement.
  • Initial commitment of approximately 10 hours, with potential for additional work.
  • All work is subject to a nondisclosure agreement.
Compensation

140 to 150 per hour.

What to prepare before applying

  1. Qualified to practise in Japan as a bengoshi or registered foreign lawyer (gaikokuho jimu bengoshi).
  2. Native or fluent Japanese with precise written communication.
  3. Primarily law-firm experience: at least 2 years in litigation, disputes, or contentious practice. Current in-house candidates are eligible only if they moved in-house within the last 2 years and previously worked at a law firm.
  4. Strong command of Japanese litigation and procedural law.
