Role Overview
Apply corporate, commercial, and M&A legal expertise to help improve next-generation AI systems through high-quality, real-world legal analysis and feedback. This remote contractor role focuses on commercial contracts, corporate matters, mergers and acquisitions, and general counsel topics. No prior AI experience is required.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate corporate, commercial, and M&A documents for accuracy, enforceability, and compliance with US law.
- Draft, review, and provide feedback on contracts, policies, and agreements using corporate-law best practices.
- Translate complex legal concepts into clear explanations for AI system development.
- Identify and summarize legal issues, trends, and risks in business transactions and contract negotiations.
- Contribute real-world legal scenarios, case studies, and document samples to AI training datasets.
- Collaborate asynchronously with project stakeholders to clarify deliverables and answer corporate-law questions.
- Provide precise written and verbal insights on legal language and its practical application.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor from an accredited US law school and active bar membership in at least one US jurisdiction.
- At least 5 years of corporate, business, or transactional law experience, including M&A, contracts, and risk management.
- Experience as outside counsel, in-house corporate counsel, or a legal consultant to business clients.
- Expertise in corporate law, M&A, contract drafting and review, US regulatory compliance, legal risk management, and legal research and analysis.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex legal issues to varied audiences.
- Proficiency reviewing and drafting corporate and commercial agreements, plus familiarity with the US commercial and regulatory legal landscape.
- Intellectual curiosity and interest in technology-driven projects.
Work Terms
- Remote, contract engagement for US-based attorneys.
- Work is task-based. Average handling time is approximately 3.5 hours per task.
Compensation
- $90 to $150 per hour.
- Payment is based on completed tasks that meet project specifications. Effective hourly earnings depend on the number of completed tasks that are successfully signed off.
