Robotics Trainer Intern

Help advance robotic intelligence by providing high-quality, real-world training data for next-generation AI systems. This onsite, hands-on role involves using a handheld UMI gripper device in a San Francisco lab to complete repetitive object-manipulation tasks. No previous robotics or AI experience is required.

• Operate a handheld UMI gripper to pick up objects, open containers, and perform simple household actions across varied objects and environments.
• Follow detailed written instructions and collection protocols exactly to support consistent, reliable robot-learning data.
• Reset physical environments between attempts and check each data submission for quality before moving to the next task.
• Identify and clearly report hardware problems, unclear instructions, or compromised recordings to the project lead.
• Maintain accuracy and consistency during extended periods of repetitive, hands-on activity.
• Document observations, report issues, and suggest process improvements through written and verbal communication.
• Work with project coordinators and fellow contributors to keep data collection aligned with required protocols.

• Fine motor control, dexterity, and precision when handling objects.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow complex, step-by-step instructions without deviation.
• Comfort with repetitive physical work, sustained focus, and the stamina needed for extended participation periods.
• A reliable, punctual, and accountable approach to work.
• Ability to quickly learn basic hardware interfaces and address minor technical issues.
• Clear written and verbal communication, including the ability to flag issues and interpret instructions.
• Hands-on backgrounds in warehouse work, operations, gaming, gig work, or student projects are valued.

• Onsite contract internship based in San Francisco.
• Hands-on work in a lab environment using a handheld device.

$30 per hour.
