Role Overview
Help train next-generation robotic AI systems through precise, hands-on data collection in a San Francisco lab. You will operate a handheld UMI gripper to complete everyday manipulation tasks that support how robot learning models learn, reason, and perform. No prior robotics or AI experience is required.
Key Responsibilities
- Use a handheld UMI gripper to pick up objects, open containers, and complete simple household actions across varied objects and environments.
- Follow detailed written instructions and collection protocols exactly to produce consistent, reliable data.
- Reset physical environments between attempts and review each submission for quality before moving to the next task.
- Identify and report hardware issues, unclear instructions, or compromised recordings to the project lead.
- Maintain accuracy and consistency during extended periods of repetitive, hands-on activity.
- Document observations, report issues, and share potential process improvements verbally and in writing.
- Work with project coordinators and other contributors to follow collection protocols and keep work running smoothly.
Qualifications
- Fine motor control, dexterity, and precision when handling objects.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow complex, step-by-step instructions without deviation.
- Comfort with repetitive physical work and the stamina to remain focused for extended periods.
- Reliability, punctuality, and personal accountability.
- Ability to quickly learn basic hardware interfaces and address minor technical issues.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills for interpreting instructions, reporting issues, and sharing observations.
- Hands-on experience from warehouse, operations, gaming, gig work, or student projects is valued. Robotics and AI experience is not required.

Compensation
$10 to $20 per hour.
