Contribute COBOL expertise to support and modernize legacy mainframe systems while producing high-quality, real-world inputs used to train next-generation AI systems. This contractor role focuses on analyzing and documenting COBOL applications, explaining program logic and data flows, and delivering clear written and verbal explanations so technical stakeholders and models can learn from real domain knowledge. No prior AI experience is required; strong COBOL and legacy-systems knowledge is the main requirement.
Key Responsibilities- Analyze, interpret, and document COBOL code for legacy system applications.
- Identify and explain program logic, data flows, and integration points within COBOL environments.
- Provide high-quality, detailed written and verbal input in response to project-specific prompts and tasks.
- Contribute domain knowledge to create and refine AI training data sets.
- Review and clarify technical requirements and specifications to ensure accurate model understanding.
- Collaborate virtually with project managers and technical stakeholders to meet deliverables and milestones.
- Participate in feedback sessions to iteratively enhance project outcomes and model performance.
- Required skill: Proficiency in COBOL programming.
- Understanding of mainframe or midrange environments, including familiarity with data processing, batch operations, or transaction management in COBOL.
- Experience interpreting legacy system documentation and business logic.
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly in written and spoken English.
- Keen attention to detail and a methodical approach to code analysis and documentation.
- Interest or experience in collaborative, remote projects with cross-functional teams.
- Curiosity about AI systems and willingness to work on innovative technology initiatives; prior AI experience is not required.
