Role Overview
Apply COBOL and mainframe expertise to support legacy-system analysis and modernization while helping improve next-generation AI systems through detailed, real-world technical input. This remote contract opportunity is well suited to junior COBOL professionals who communicate technical concepts clearly and are interested in innovative, AI-driven work. No prior AI experience is required.
Key Responsibilities- Analyze, interpret, and document COBOL code used in legacy system applications.
- Provide detailed written and verbal responses to project-specific prompts and tasks.
- Identify and explain program logic, data flows, and integration points in COBOL environments.
- Contribute domain expertise to the creation and refinement of AI training data.
- Review and clarify technical requirements and specifications to support accurate model understanding.
- Collaborate virtually with project managers and technical stakeholders to meet deliverables and milestones.
- Participate in feedback sessions that improve project outcomes and model performance.
- Proficiency in COBOL programming.
- Understanding of mainframe or midrange environments.
- Ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly in written and spoken English.
- Experience interpreting legacy-system documentation and business logic.
- Familiarity with COBOL data processing, batch operations, or transaction management.
- Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to code analysis and documentation.
- Interest or experience in collaborative remote, cross-functional projects.
