About this role

Role Overview

Shape the data foundations for next-generation robot learning and perception systems. This remote, full-time role sits at the intersection of robotics, embodied AI, and data, turning frontier research challenges into scalable datasets, collection methods, and evaluation frameworks for real-world physical AI.

Key Responsibilities

  • Research data requirements for frontier robotics, world models, and physical AI systems.
  • Design datasets and collection methods spanning egocentric video, teleoperation, UMI, robot trajectories, sensors, and simulation.
  • Define data schemas, annotations, ground truth, and evaluation approaches for manipulation, navigation, spatial reasoning, and physical understanding.
  • Run experiments to determine which data and structures most improve model performance.
  • Partner with AI and robotics teams to translate research needs into scalable data pipelines and products.
  • Track frontier research and use it to inform robotics data strategy.

Qualifications

  • 2 to 5+ years of experience in robotics, computer vision, multimodal learning, embodied AI, or applied machine learning research.
  • Strong knowledge of robotics or physical AI and multimodal data.
  • Ability to turn research questions into concrete datasets, experiments, and technical specifications.
  • Strong technical communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Degree in robotics, computer science, electrical engineering, machine learning, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience at a robotics, AI, autonomous-systems company, or research lab.
  • Hands-on work with embodied AI datasets, imitation learning, teleoperation, robot-learning pipelines, robotics hardware, sensor integration, or rapid prototyping.
  • Experience designing or using multimodal robotics datasets involving video, sensor, trajectory, or simulation data.
  • Familiarity with data collection and evaluation for manipulation, navigation, spatial reasoning, or world models.

Work Terms

  • Full-time, remote position.

Compensation

  • Listed annual compensation range: $500, 000 to $1, 500, 000.
  • National base-salary range: $200, 000 to $320, 000 USD.
  • Equity is available to all employees. Performance-based bonuses may also be available, depending on role and company policies.
  • Benefits include up to 100% reimbursement of health-insurance premiums, paid time off, a 401(k) plan with company match, and additional remote-workforce benefits.

Equal Opportunity

Qualified applicants are considered without regard to race, color, religion, sex, including pregnancy, sexual orientation, or gender identity, national origin, age, disability, genetic information, veteran status, or other characteristics protected by applicable law.
