About this role
Apply deep naval and maritime expertise to help train next-generation AI systems while supporting a high-impact project that informs Navy decision-making at the Pentagon. You will turn operational, programmatic, or intelligence experience into nuanced analysis, actionable recommendations, and clear briefings in a secure environment. No prior AI experience is required.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver expert analysis of naval operations, platforms, and doctrine based on direct fleet, program, or intelligence experience.
- Assess and synthesize classified and unclassified operational or program data to develop recommendations for Navy planning and requirements.
- Prepare concise written assessments and high-level briefings for senior military and civilian leaders.
- Coordinate with Navy, Department of Defense, Intelligence Community, and industry stakeholders to gather insight and align work with mission objectives.
- Interpret and communicate recent developments in naval capabilities and maritime security relevant to project objectives.
- Safeguard TS/SCI-level classified materials in accordance with project and facility protocols.
Qualifications
- At least 10 years of experience in the U.S. Navy, MARAD/DOT, or a comparable maritime or defense role, with experience at the O-4/O-5, GS-13/14-equivalent level or demonstrated subject-matter authority.
- Deep naval domain knowledge, sound analytical judgment, comfort working in classified environments, stakeholder-navigation skills, and the ability to brief senior leadership.
- Demonstrated experience writing and briefing for executive or flag-level leadership in defense or government settings.
- Familiarity with Pentagon processes, OPNAV, NAVSEA, or PEO environments, including cross-stakeholder coordination.
- A record of sound judgment in classified or other high-stakes project environments.
- Intelligence analysis or Intelligence Community experience is a strong asset.
- A master''s degree in national security, defense studies, engineering, or a related field is desirable.

- Remote contract engagement.
Compensation
- $50 to $100 per hour.
Eligibility
- An active TS/SCI clearance is strongly preferred. At minimum, candidates must have held a Secret clearance within the past 24 months and be eligible for TS/SCI reinstatement.
