About this role
Apply your chemical safety and toxicology expertise to strengthen AI systems used in chemical safety evaluation. This remote contract role supports a client project through high-quality analysis, feedback, and guidance. Prior AI experience is not required.
Key Responsibilities- Analyze chemical safety, toxicological risk, precursor chemical, and hazardous-substance scenarios.
- Review, annotate, and provide critical feedback on documents, datasets, and model outputs concerning chemical weapons, toxicology, and hazardous materials.
- Provide expert input on nonproliferation standards, regulatory protocols, chemical-handling safety operations, and risk mitigation.
- Develop and refine guidelines for evaluating chemical and toxicological hazards in realistic and hypothetical situations.
- Explain chemical interactions, exposure risks, and toxicity profiles for AI training purposes.
- Work remotely with project coordinators, supplying written and verbal clarification or additional context when needed.
- Identify inaccuracies or gaps in content and model assessments related to chemical safety and toxicology.
- Advanced degree, such as a PhD, MD, JD, PsyD, or relevant master’s degree, in chemistry, toxicology, industrial hygiene, or a closely related field.
- At least 5 years of specialized experience in chemical weapons nonproliferation, hazardous-materials handling, toxicological risk assessment, or chemical safety protocols.
- Experience as an independent consultant, policy advisor, response specialist, or safety officer in industry, government, or research settings.
- Expertise in controlled substances, precursor-risk evaluation, or nonproliferation regulatory frameworks.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex technical information clearly.
- Familiarity with chemical-safety, hazardous-material management, or toxicology standards in high-stakes environments.
- Interest in applying domain expertise to emerging AI technology.

- $50 to $90 per hour.
