Provide senior domain expertise in biosecurity and synthetic biology to develop and evaluate biosecurity assessment frameworks for a critical customer project. You will turn real-world biorisk and laboratory safety knowledge into high-quality inputs that train and evaluate next-generation AI systems. Key Responsibilities- Develop a comprehensive taxonomy of biological misuse scenarios, covering current and emergent threats.
- Design safe, realistic evaluation scenarios to test biosafety measures and dual-use risk protocols.
- Establish severity ratings for biological risks to support nuanced threat modeling and mitigation strategies.
- Perform rigorous false-negative reviews of draft benchmarks, ensuring protective and pragmatic outcomes.
- Advise on laboratory safety protocols, pathogen containment strategies, and dual-use governance best practices.
- Contribute written and verbal insights to documentation, scenario development, and cross-functional communication.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to contextualize biological misuse risks for public-health impact modeling.

- Minimum 5+ years of professional experience in biosecurity, biorisk management, synthetic biology, or a closely related field, with 8 to 20 years preferred for senior contributors.

- Hands-on experience in roles such as biorisk officer, synthetic biology researcher, public-health biodefense specialist, government biosecurity advisor, or laboratory director.
- Proven ability to develop and review threat scenarios and risk taxonomies with strong domain credibility.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with attention to precise and actionable input.
- Experience working with multidisciplinary and cross-sector teams in research, policy, or safety-critical environments.
