Role Overview
Apply advanced scientific computing expertise to help train next-generation AI systems for STEM-focused work. This remote contract role centers on showing how AI coding agents support real scientific computing workflows, from navigating complex codebases to solving ambiguous engineering and research challenges. Prior AI experience is not required, but strong domain expertise and the ability to clearly explain technical work are essential.
Key Responsibilities- Provide detailed real-world examples of AI coding agents integrated into complex scientific computing workflows.
- Demonstrate and document use of Codex, Claude Science, Claude Code, and Claude Cowork to navigate large codebases, debug issues, and implement features.
- Create clear written narratives and verbal explanations of technical approaches, challenges, and problem-solving strategies.
- Assess the practical impact of AI agents when addressing ambiguous requirements, architectural changes, and full-cycle project scenarios.
- Deliver structured feedback on current AI tools, including their strengths, limitations, and potential improvements in scientific computing contexts.
- Contribute real-world data, scripts, or code samples created through agent-driven code-generation sequences rather than simple chat queries.
- Current STEM professional with significant scientific computing experience and hands-on AI tool integration experience.
- Proficiency using Codex, Claude Science, Claude Code, and Claude Cowork for advanced technical tasks beyond basic code completion.
- Demonstrated ability to apply AI agents to large-scale, ambiguous, or complex engineering and research challenges.
- Experience debugging large codebases, implementing features, and producing thorough technical documentation.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts and workflows.
- Experience providing structured feedback and evaluating technical tools and processes.
- A record of using AI agents to generate professional, real-world outputs or code sequences.
- A collaborative, detail-oriented approach and interest in advancing AI capabilities for STEM applications.
- Remote contract engagement.
- $80 to $100 per hour.
