Role Overview
Apply advanced scientific computing expertise to help train next generation AI systems for STEM work. This remote contract opportunity focuses on documenting and evaluating how AI coding agents support complex computational science workflows.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide detailed real world examples of AI coding agents integrated into complex scientific computing workflows.
- Demonstrate and document use of Codex, Claude Science, Claude Code, and Claude Cowork to navigate large codebases, debug issues, and implement features.
- Create high quality written narratives and verbal explanations of technical approaches, challenges, and problem solving strategies.
- Assess the practical impact of AI agents when addressing ambiguous requirements, architectural updates, and full cycle project scenarios.
- Deliver clear, structured feedback on the strengths, limitations, and improvement opportunities of AI tools in scientific computing.
- Contribute real world data, scripts, or code samples produced through agent-driven code generation sequences, rather than simple chat queries.
Qualifications
- Current STEM professional with significant scientific computing experience and hands-on AI tool integration experience.
- Proficiency using Codex, Claude Science, Claude Code, and Claude Cowork for advanced tasks beyond basic code completion.
- Ability to apply AI agents to large scale, ambiguous, or complex engineering and research challenges.
- Experience debugging large codebases, implementing features, and producing technical documentation.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical workflows clearly.
- Experience providing structured feedback and thorough documentation for technical processes and tool evaluations.
- A record of using AI agents to generate code or output sequences in professional, real world settings.
- A collaborative, detail-oriented approach and interest in advancing AI capabilities for STEM applications.
- No prior AI experience is required, as relevant domain expertise is the primary focus.
