About this role

Build realistic evaluation tasks from construction drawings, project documents, and site photos for the construction and property field. You will create the task and its correct structured deliverable, such as an RFI response, coordination comments, or a marked-up drawing set, then a second reviewer from your discipline will review the work before release.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create tasks based on real design and drawing-coordination work, including architectural RFI response reviews, drawing-set QC checks, technical peer reviews, cross-sheet coordination reviews, constructability reviews, redline back-checks, design-change approvals, addendum change scoping, as-built drawing production, pre-bid drawing scope reviews, drawing-set document control, commissioning design reviews, and shop drawing reviews for interiors, millwork, and building-envelope details.
  • Author both the task scenario and the correct answer or deliverable.
  • Identify cross-sheet conflicts and coordination issues that may be missed during rushed reviews.
Qualifications
  • Current or recent experience producing and coordinating permit and construction drawing sets as an architect of record, project architect, job captain, or design coordination lead.
  • Licensed architect, or at least 8 years of experience as a project architect or job captain producing permit sets in lieu of licensure.
  • At least 3 years in a relevant role, based in the United States and experienced with U.S. model-code jurisdictions. Eight or more years is preferred.
  • Ability to mark up drawing sets and details using Bluebeam Revu or an equivalent tool.
What Sets You Apart
  • Experience leading drawing-set QC or back-checking others'' drawings.
  • Experience mentoring job captains, maintaining office standards or a detail library, or working on both sides of the RFI process as a designer and reviewer.
Role Fit

This role is not intended for CAD or BIM drafters without drawing-set authorship, renderers or visualization specialists, interior decorators, or project managers whose work centers on schedule coordination rather than drawing coordination.

Work Terms
  • Remote, United States.
  • Hourly engagement.
Compensation

$45 to $60 per hour, depending on experience, with potential rate growth as the project scales.

What to prepare before applying

  1. Licensed architect, or alternatively 8 or more years as a project architect or job captain producing permit sets.
  2. US-based and experienced working in US model code jurisdictions.
  3. Currently hold, or recently held, an architect of record, project architect, job captain, or design coordination lead role producing and coordinating permit and construction drawing sets.
  4. 3 or more years in the relevant role.
