Role Overview
Apply UI and visual design expertise to help train next-generation AI systems through rigorous interface analysis, design-system thinking, polished Figma mockups, and clear written rationale. This writing-intensive contract role focuses on translating real-world design judgment into high-quality evaluations, recommendations, and documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate user interfaces, identifying strengths and weaknesses in visual and interaction design.
- Write structured, well-supported rationales that explain design decisions, analyses, and recommendations.
- Develop and communicate design-system principles, patterns, and guidelines.
- Review, refine, and document component libraries for clarity, consistency, and accessibility.
- Create visually engaging Figma mockups using sound color, typography, spacing, layout, and responsive-design practices.
- Produce comprehensive documentation for varied audiences.
- Address usability and accessibility standards in both visual design and supporting documentation.
Qualifications
- At least 3 years of UI, visual, or product design experience, supported by a strong digital-work portfolio.
- Expertise in UI design, typography, color theory, visual hierarchy, layout, and responsive design.
- Proficiency with Figma, design systems, and component libraries.
- Experience documenting design systems or component guidelines with detailed, persuasive rationale.
- Strong analytical writing skills and the ability to clearly explain complex design choices.
- Working familiarity with accessibility standards, including WCAG, and their practical use in interface design.
- Advanced English writing skills are essential. Experience with leading universities or highly regarded organizations is valued.
Work Terms
- Remote independent contractor engagement.

Compensation
