About this role

Role Overview

Apply specialist adolescent mental health expertise to help improve AI-supported assessment and management of suicide and self-harm risk. You will review complex clinical presentations, develop practical risk guidance, and produce high-quality written assessments that help non-specialists distinguish ideation, intent, self-harm, and acute risk. Prior AI experience is not required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review adolescent case materials and prepare structured written risk assessments for suicide and self-harm presentations.
  • Use validated tools, including the C-SSRS, alongside expert clinical risk formulation to provide clear, actionable guidance.
  • Differentiate self-harm, suicidal ideation, and intent, and characterize risk acuity precisely.
  • Recommend response protocols, including escalation pathways, Stanley-Brown safety planning, and means-restriction strategies.
  • Identify comorbidities, safeguarding concerns, and contextual factors that influence risk.
  • Document research-grade guidance in clear English so non-specialists can confidently carry out recommended actions.
  • Benchmark and cross-reference risk judgments against established guidelines and peer assessments to support consistency.

Qualifications

  • 3 to 5+ years of post-qualification experience with direct adolescent clinical contact focused on suicide and self-harm risk.
  • Specialist credentials in child and adolescent psychiatry or psychology, with demonstrated suicide and self-harm intervention expertise.
  • An active clinical license or registration in good standing and an active adolescent caseload within the past two years.
  • Advanced proficiency with suicide and self-harm risk assessment tools, including C-SSRS and safety-planning protocols.
  • Familiarity with evidence-based adolescent interventions, including DBT-A and trauma-informed care.
  • Strong clinical reasoning, risk assessment, intervention judgment, risk formulation, ideation and intent differentiation, and escalation judgment.
  • Exceptional written English, demonstrated by native proficiency or IELTS 7.5+ with writing 7.0+, TOEFL 100+, Cambridge C1 to C2, or an equivalent qualification.
  • DBT-A or CBT training, crisis or inpatient experience, and contributions to suicidology research or clinical guidelines are desirable.

Work Terms

  • Remote contract engagement.
  • Applicants should be ready to begin promptly. Roles are typically filled within 48 hours, and selected candidates are expected to begin initial tasks within 24 to 48 hours after onboarding.

Compensation

$45 to $95 per hour.
