Role Overview
Apply safeguarding and clinical judgment to help evaluate sexual safety and exploitation risks in complex adolescent scenarios. This remote contract role contributes expert, real-world assessments that support the training and evaluation of AI systems. Prior AI experience is not required.
Key Responsibilities
- Review adolescent cases for sexual safety, child sexual exploitation, and child sexual abuse risks.
- Prepare clear, defensible written safeguarding guidance for non-specialist audiences.
- Use recognized clinical risk-assessment and safeguarding frameworks to determine severity, urgency, and appropriate interventions.
- Identify nuanced indicators of grooming, coercion, and exploitation.
- Recommend protective actions and escalation routes, including circumstances requiring mandatory reporting.
- Use a trauma-informed approach that considers development, decision-making capacity, and consent.
- Benchmark clinical judgments against peer standards and established protocols to support accurate, reliable guidance.
Qualifications
- 3 to 5+ years of post-qualification experience in child safeguarding, adolescent protection, or a related clinical role.
- Background in child protection, forensic child or adolescent psychiatry or psychology, or pediatric medicine with safeguarding responsibilities.
- Active clinical license or registration in good standing.
- Current or recent, within the past two years, adolescent caseload or safeguarding practice.
- Demonstrated expertise in CSE/CSA risk assessment, mandatory-reporting requirements, trauma-informed practice, and documentation.
- Strong clinical reasoning, clinical risk assessment, severity staging, intervention judgment, safeguarding escalation, and consent and developmental judgment.
- Exceptional research-grade English writing skills, demonstrated by native proficiency or IELTS 7.5+ overall with 7.0+ writing, TOEFL 100+, Cambridge C1 to C2, or equivalent.
- Experience as a designated safeguarding professional or expert witness, plus familiarity with ACEs and trauma frameworks, is preferred.
Work Terms
- Remote, independent-contractor engagement.
- Applicants should be ready to begin promptly. Roles are typically filled within 48 hours.
- Selected candidates are expected to begin their first tasks within 24 to 48 hours after completing onboarding.
Compensation
$45 to $95 per hour.
