About this role
Role Overview
Apply your data science and statistical expertise to create rigorous training and evaluation materials that help advanced AI systems learn, reason, and perform. This remote contract role focuses on interpreting complex visualizations, designing clear analytical tasks, and producing precise, verifiable solutions. Prior AI experience is not required.
Key Responsibilities
- Interpret complex data science and statistical visualizations, including Sankey diagrams, heatmaps, calibration curves, residual plots, correlation matrices, and distribution plots, using advanced professional judgment and terminology.
- Design clear, objective, multi-step analytical questions based on challenging visualizations, with quantitative reasoning that goes beyond surface-level chart reading.
- Provide precise, unambiguous answers with thorough step-by-step written explanations, including calculations, statistical inferences, and modeling logic when required.
- Use exact data science and statistical terminology when referencing units, scales, axes, legends, and annotations.
- Create tasks involving graphical reasoning, trend analysis, comparison, interpolation, and statistical inference while avoiding subjective or ambiguous prompts.
- Produce objectively verifiable tasks and solutions for rigorous AI-model training and evaluation.
- Collaborate remotely through written and verbal communication, incorporate feedback, and maintain consistent communication with project stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor''s degree or equivalent professional experience in Data Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Operations Research, or a related quantitative field.
- At least two years of professional, academic, or research experience working with statistical models, data visualizations, or analytical reporting.
- Strong chart interpretation accuracy and advanced ability to interpret axes, legends, units, scales, confidence intervals, and statistical annotations across chart types.
- Strong multi-step quantitative reasoning and the ability to design unambiguous analytical tasks and questions.
- Ability to communicate analytical processes and quantitative reasoning clearly in high-quality written and verbal English.
- Bilingual English proficiency and, ideally, proficiency in a second language relevant to your domain.
- Experience with technical documentation, publications, assessment design, structured analytical task development, data annotation, benchmark questions, technical reports, or related data science, statistics, or AI project materials.
Work Terms
- Remote contract engagement.
Compensation
- $25 to $50 per hour.
