Strategic Project Lead for AI Data Operations

About this role
Lead delivery for top AI Labs customers by managing teams of domain experts who generate and curate human data used to train frontier AI models. In this role you will design and run large scale data workflows and pipelines, serve as the primary point of contact for major clients, and translate operational performance into executive insights that improve model training quality and scalability.
Key Responsibilities- Own projects end to end, ensuring top AI Lab clients are highly satisfied.
- Design, operate, and optimize large scale data pipelines for training and evaluation workflows.
- Manage a team of human data managers and leads who review the work of subject matter experts.
- Communicate directly with major AI Lab clients on high impact projects.
- Collaborate with human data engineers to define, track, and improve KPIs for data quality and operational performance.
- Provide executive level updates and insights on project status, data performance, and operational impact.
- Report directly to the CEO and the Head of Human Data.
- Required skills: leadership and team management, data operations, human data expertise.
- 2+ years in a leadership role driving operational processes, managing large scale data projects, or optimizing workflows.
- Strong background in data operations, data engineering, or computer science.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Startup and entrepreneurial mindset, with a demonstrated passion for building systems from the ground up, identifying inefficiencies, and rapidly implementing solutions.
- Willingness to work very long hours when required, including weekends.

- This role expects a high time commitment, including the ability to work extended hours and weekends when project demands require.
- Listed total compensation for the Strategic Project Lead core team: $300, 000 to $500, 000 per year.
- The company also publishes a national pay range for this full time position as a base salary of $120, 000 to $160, 000 USD.
- All employees are eligible for equity compensation, and may receive performance based bonuses depending on role and company policies.
