Software Engineer, Human Data Platforms

Build and operate the data and document infrastructure that powers model evaluation, secure data handling, and complex document workflows. This role delivers end to end features across API, UI, and data pipeline layers, working quickly and autonomously as part of a small, senior core team.

• Ship features across backend and frontend, including Python/FastAPI services and React/Next.js/TypeScript interfaces.
• Design and implement data pipelines for evaluation and model control layers.
• Own secure document pipelines, including storage and permissions for S3, GCS, and Azure, with attention to preventing data leakage.
• Develop OCR and search systems for PDFs, images, and scanned documents.
• Parse, validate, and enforce complex nested JSON structures used by downstream systems.
• Build document tooling to generate, edit, and annotate PDFs and images.
• Debug, scale, and improve performance and reliability of pipelines and storage systems.
• Contribute to system design improvements across the stack, taking end to end ownership of problems.

• Proven experience building and shipping real production systems, not just tutorials.
• Strong Python skills, experience with FastAPI or similar frameworks.
• Frontend experience with React, Next.js, and TypeScript.
• Solid fundamentals in APIs, SQL, asynchronous systems, and data modeling, PostgreSQL experience preferred.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Comfort working across the full stack, from UI to backend to data pipelines.
• Ability to work with complex data systems and pipelines, and to design for security and permissions.
• High ownership, low ego, and a track record of fast execution.
• Preferred but not required, experience with LLM or AI systems, OCR and document processing, or search systems.

• Employment type: Full time.
• Location: Remote, candidates must overlap Pacific Standard Time by at least 6 to 8 hours.
• Team: Core engineering team, expected to operate with high autonomy and end to end responsibility.

• Salary range: $140, 000 to $220, 000 per year.
