Software Engineer, Human Data Platforms

Join a dynamic team as a Software Engineer focused on Human Data Platforms, where you will play a crucial role in building and shipping systems that enhance AI model performance. • Develop and ship features across the backend (Python/FastAPI) and frontend (React/Next.js/TypeScript).
• Build data pipelines for evaluation and model control layers.
• Own secure document pipelines, ensuring no data leakage while managing permissions across S3, GCS, and Azure.
• Develop OCR and search systems for PDFs, images, and scanned documents.
• Parse and enforce complex nested JSON structures.
• Create document tooling for generating, editing, and annotating PDFs and images.
• Debug and scale pipelines and storage systems to improve performance and reliability.
• Enhance system design across the stack.

• Proven experience as a strong builder with Python (FastAPI) and React.
• Comfortable working across the technology stack.
• Solid understanding of APIs, SQL, async systems, and data modeling.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Ability to work with complex data systems or pipelines.
• Demonstrated high ownership, low ego, and fast execution.
• Preferred experience with LLM or AI systems, OCR, document processing, or search systems.
• Experience in secure data handling and permissions.
• Track record of building and shipping real systems, not just tutorials.

This is a full-time remote position, requiring at least 6-8 hours of overlap with the PST timezone.

The compensation for this role ranges from $140, 000 to $220, 000 per year.
