Role Overview
Build, integrate, and stress-test production software that puts frontier large language models through real-world use cases before release. You will work directly with an AI lab engineering manager on fast-moving projects, contribute working code early, and help translate hands-on engineering findings into feedback for research teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and ship full-stack applications, services, and internal tools using Python, Java, Rust, C#, C++, or TypeScript to exercise frontier model capabilities end to end.
- Integrate pre-release model APIs into functional software, including tool interfaces, evaluation harnesses, and telemetry.
- Identify and document model and integration failure modes, turning engineering observations into clear written feedback for researchers.
- Prototype against changing requirements and deliver working increments with limited up-front specification.
- Collaborate with the engineering manager and fellow engineers on code quality, architecture, and technical documentation.
Qualifications
- 6+ years of professional experience building and shipping production software at a recognized top-tier organization, including end-to-end system ownership.
- Deep production experience in at least one of Python, Java, Rust, C#, or C++, plus demonstrated delivery in a second language from a different ecosystem.
- Hands-on full-stack experience with backend service and API design, React or an equivalent modern front-end framework, data modeling, and cloud deployment and operations.
- Ability to become productive quickly in an unfamiliar codebase with minimal ramp-up.
- Demonstrated career progression, strong written communication, and the ability to explain complex technical decisions clearly.
Work Terms
- United States-based hourly W-2 employment.
- Full-time weekday commitment of at least 40 hours per week.
- Employment is through an employer of record, with potential placement on an AI lab team supporting high-impact initiatives.
Compensation
$90 to $110 per hour.
