Senior FreeCAD Engineer

Apply your FreeCAD and mechanical design expertise to create and validate parametric CAD models that help train next-generation AI systems. This remote, contractor role focuses on producing high-quality, manufacturable CAD assets, technical drawings, and engineering reviews that influence how models learn and reason. Prior AI experience is not required; domain expertise in CAD and mechanical design is the core requirement.

• Create, modify, and validate detailed parametric CAD models in FreeCAD to meet project specifications.
• Develop and optimize mechanical assemblies, applying best practices in assembly design and component integration.
• Generate clear, precise technical drawings and documentation for engineering review and downstream processes.

• 2+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, product design, industrial engineering, or a related field with emphasis on parametric CAD modeling.
• Advanced proficiency in FreeCAD or equivalent parametric CAD platforms.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical design fundamentals, including GD&T and DFM best practices.
• Proven ability to produce comprehensive technical drawings and documentation for manufacturing and assembly.
• Experience performing engineering QA and verifying model integrity and compliance with specifications.
• Python scripting for CAD automation is highly preferred, but not required.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and written communication skills suitable for remote, project-based collaboration.
