About this role

Role Overview

Retail professionals apply in-store supervisory, management, and asset-protection experience to create and evaluate prompts and responses for AI systems, helping AI better understand real-world retail tasks, customer interactions, and loss-prevention scenarios.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop industry-specific prompts, scenarios, and examples that reflect authentic retail workflows and customer-service situations.
  • Evaluate large language model outputs for accuracy, relevance, tone, and safety in retail contexts.
  • Provide clear, task-focused feedback and written explanations to improve AI performance on retail tasks.
  • Complete assignments asynchronously according to project instructions and quality guidelines.
  • Learn and apply new skills related to AI evaluation while contributing subject-matter expertise from retail operations.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years of work experience in one or more of the following roles: Retail Supervisor, Department Supervisor, Front End Supervisor, Store Supervisor, Store Manager, Assistant Store Manager, Retail Operations Manager, Branch Manager, Loss Prevention Investigator, Asset Protection Investigator.
  • Comfortable working primarily asynchronously and following detailed task instructions in collaboration with AI research teams.
  • Ability to produce clear written feedback and examples based on retail practice.
Work Terms
  • Location: Remote, asynchronous work you can perform from anywhere.
  • Employment type: Part-time.
  • Flexible hours, with no minimum weekly commitment.
  • Placement into specific projects depends on project availability; the program runs year-round and new project opportunities open periodically across different specialties.
Compensation
  • Up to $65/hr, depending on the project.
Eligibility
  • F-1 students with valid CPT or OPT authorization may be eligible to participate, but you must confirm eligibility with your Designated School Official. If your school requires enrollment in a CPT course, this program may not meet those requirements. STEM OPT is not supported.
  • Participants must complete identity verification and any required onboarding steps to be assigned to projects.
Application Process

To apply, create a profile and submit your information, complete identity verification, opt into or request consideration for relevant projects, finish the project-specific onboarding tasks, and begin work on approved assignments. Project placement and assignment begin after onboarding and depend on current project availability.
