Role Overview
Capture high-quality video demonstrations of everyday household tasks using a UMI gripper wearable device to generate training data for personal robotics. This contractor role requires precise, repeatable recordings that reflect real-world hand movements and behavior in a home environment.
Key Responsibilities- Record and submit video demonstrations that comply with detailed project specifications, using a UMI gripper wearable device.
- Follow task-specific instructions closely to ensure all recordings meet rigorous quality standards.
- Review feedback from assigned reviewers and iteratively improve your recordings and processes.
- Set up and operate recording equipment and the UMI gripper so recorded motions accurately mimic robot hand movements.
- Communicate clearly and proactively with the project team, both in writing and verbally.
- Maintain a consistent weekly workflow to meet the minimum approved data requirements.
- Proven attention to detail, and the ability to follow complex specifications precisely.
- Manual dexterity and experience performing precise physical tasks in household settings.
- Comfort with operating, wearing, and setting up specialized devices and recording equipment, including prolonged use of a VR headset.
- Experience or comfort with UMI grippers and capturing video demonstrations.
- Ability to incorporate feedback and make iterative improvements to techniques and outputs.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and openness to prompt feedback exchanges.
- Reliable access to a fully equipped Philippine household environment, including kitchen and common living spaces and typical household items.
- Stable, high-speed internet capable of uploading large video files from your home.
- Curiosity about personal robotics, AI, and emerging home technologies.
- Prior experience in data collection, usability studies, or hands-on projects producing recorded data.
- Patience for repetitive, precision-oriented tasks and willingness to adapt as project needs evolve.

- This is a pay-per-task model, you are paid for approved data hours that meet project specifications.
- Maintain a consistent weekly output to satisfy minimum approved data requirements.
- Roles are typically filled within 48 hours, and selected candidates should be ready to start their first task as soon as they proceed with their application.
- Pay range during the pilot phase, $12.00 to $13.00 per hour of approved data.
- Payment is per hour of approved data, with an initial pilot rate and an improved rate after calibration once quality benchmarks are met.
- Early on, expect roughly 2 hours of review and refinement work for every 1 hour of approved data, which reduces as you gain experience and calibration occurs, improving effective earnings.
- Must be based in Japan and able to perform all work remotely from that location.
- Must have reliable access to a fully equipped Philippine household environment, including required rooms and common items, for task recording.
- Must be able to upload large video files via stable, high-speed internet from your home environment.
- Must be comfortable with prolonged use of a VR headset as part of regular work activities.
