About this role

Role Overview

Pricing Analysts apply retail pricing, markdown planning, and competitive price monitoring expertise to evaluate AI-generated content and create expert training data. You will use hands-on knowledge of pricing workflows to judge accuracy and relevance, helping AI better reflect real-world retail pricing practices. This engagement is flexible, remote, and project based, and does not require prior AI experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate AI-generated responses for correctness and relevance based on real-world pricing practice.
  • Create expert-level training examples and annotations using the pricing tools and workflows you regularly use.
  • Provide detailed, actionable feedback on pricing strategy, markdown planning, tariff pricing, competitive price monitoring, and markdown optimization approaches.
  • Work independently and communicate findings clearly in written form to AI research teams.
Qualifications
  • At least 2 years of professional experience in retail pricing or price management, for example as a Pricing Analyst, Senior Pricing Manager, or an equivalent role in the retail industry.
  • Hands-on experience with pricing workflows, including tariff pricing, competitive price monitoring, and markdown optimization strategies.
  • Strong written communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work asynchronously and independently with research teams.
  • No prior experience with AI is required.
Work Terms
  • Employment type: Part-time, remote, contract.
  • Schedule: Fully remote, asynchronous, flexible hours with no minimum hour requirement.
  • Typical commitment: Most contributors work approximately 5, 20 hours per week when participating in an active project.
  • Engagement model: Ongoing, project-based work that can be done alongside research, teaching, postdoctoral roles, or industry employment.
  • Project placement: Assignment to projects depends on current project needs; contributors may be considered for future projects as they become available.
Compensation

Up to $80/hr (depending on the project)

Eligibility
  • F-1 students who are eligible for CPT or OPT may be eligible to participate. Confirm eligibility with your Designated School Official before applying.
  • If your school requires enrollment in a CPT course for authorization, this project may not meet that requirement.
  • STEM OPT is not supported for this work.
  • Final participation is subject to project availability and selection.
