About this role

Apply postsecondary sociology expertise to create rigorous assessment materials that help train next-generation AI systems for an education-focused project. This role centers on translating sociological knowledge into clear, academically sound tasks, rubrics, and feedback for use across educational settings. Prior AI experience is not required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design assessment tasks grounded in sociological concepts, with clear, measurable prompts suitable for third-party educators.
  • Create high-quality evaluation rubrics aligned precisely to each task, using pedagogical frameworks including Bloom''s taxonomy.
  • Review educational materials and provide detailed, actionable feedback that strengthens clarity, rigor, and authenticity.
  • Synthesize relevant sociological literature and research to inform task and rubric development while maintaining academic integrity and current content.
  • Document the rationale and criteria behind assessments and rubrics to support transparency and use across educational contexts.
  • Collaborate asynchronously with domain experts and project stakeholders through strong written and verbal communication.
  • Refine materials iteratively in response to peer and project feedback.
Qualifications
  • PhD or ABD in Sociology or a closely related discipline.
  • Active postsecondary teaching and research or publication record.
  • Professional experience developing high-quality assessment tasks and evaluation rubrics.
  • Knowledge of pedagogical principles, including Bloom''s taxonomy and other assessment frameworks.
  • Strong analytical and research-synthesis skills, including the ability to turn complex sociological theories into actionable educational content.
  • Ability to review peer work objectively and provide constructive feedback.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and a commitment to academic rigor.
Work Terms
  • Remote independent contractor engagement.
Compensation
  • $50 to $90 per hour.
