Role Overview
Apply advanced mechanical engineering expertise to create and evaluate graduate- and postgraduate-level assessment content that helps improve AI systems. This remote contractor role focuses on rigorous, technically accurate questions and feedback across Solid and Structural Mechanics, Dynamics, Vibration and Control, and Thermal-Fluids. Prior AI experience is not required.
Key Responsibilities
- Write rigorous single-option, multiple-choice assessment questions within your mechanical engineering specialization.
- Turn advanced concepts in Solid and Structural Mechanics, Dynamics, Vibration and Control, or Thermal-Fluids into challenging, exam-quality content.
- Develop detailed answer explanations and rationales with academic clarity and precision.
- Review AI-generated mechanical engineering materials for technical accuracy and pedagogical quality.
- Collaborate asynchronously with subject-matter experts and project coordinators to refine content.
- Complete quality checks, revisions, and enhancements based on feedback and project standards.
- Maintain complete assignment and submission records using the provided digital workflow tools.
Qualifications
- PhD or MS in Mechanical Engineering, with current or previous university-level teaching experience as a professor, adjunct, lecturer, or teaching assistant.
- Expertise in one or more of the following areas: Solid and Structural Mechanics, Dynamics, Vibration and Control, or Thermal-Fluids.
- Experience authoring, grading, or reviewing graduate-level exams, problem sets, or coursework.
- Ability to translate complex engineering principles into clear, exam-ready written content.
- Experience with assessment design, rubric development, or educational content creation.
- Strong technical writing, written and verbal communication, attention to detail, and commitment to technical accuracy.
- Self-motivated, organized, and comfortable working independently in a remote, asynchronous environment. Familiarity with collaborative digital platforms is a plus.

Compensation
- Advertised compensation is $60 to $130 per hour.
