About this role

Role Overview

Land administrators apply upstream land administration, mineral title, and accounting expertise to evaluate AI-generated outputs, produce professional analytical deliverables, and give detailed feedback that improves AI understanding of upstream land management and accounting workflows.

Key Responsibilities
  • Use hands-on experience with land administration, mineral title, and upstream accounting workflows to assess AI-generated content for accuracy and realism.
  • Independently produce expert-level analytical work and structured data outputs using tools and methods from your professional practice.
  • Complete real-world tasks in a project format, for example building price forecast models or preparing PPA documentation and lease-related materials.
  • Provide clear, actionable feedback on AI outputs to help refine models and documentation quality.
  • Work asynchronously and independently to meet project requirements and quality standards.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years of professional experience in upstream land administration or upstream accounting in roles such as Landman, Senior Landman, Land Administrator, Lease Records Analyst, Revenue Accountant, JIB Analyst, Royalty Owner Analyst, or equivalent oil and gas industry positions.
  • Practical, hands-on experience with one or more of the following systems: P2 Land, Excalibur, CourthouseDirect.
  • Strong written communication, close attention to detail, and demonstrated ability to work independently in an asynchronous environment.
Work Terms
  • Employment type: Part-time, independent contractor, hourly engagement.
  • Fully remote, flexible and asynchronous scheduling, no minimum weekly hours required.
  • Typical active-project commitment is approximately 5-20 hours per week for contributors participating in an active project.
  • Ongoing, project-based assignments that can be performed alongside research, teaching, postdoctoral work, or industry employment.
  • Placement on specific projects depends on current project needs, with opportunities to be considered for future projects as they become available.
Compensation

Hourly pay, independent contractor billing. Up to $80/hr (depending on the project).

Eligibility
  • F-1 students may be eligible if they qualify for CPT or OPT, subject to approval from their Designated School Official. If a student’s school requires enrollment in a CPT course, these projects may not fulfill that requirement.
  • STEM OPT is not supported for these projects.
