Role Overview

Contribute expert written analysis that helps train next-generation AI systems across product design, UX research, visual design, design systems, and frontend engineering. This remote contract role centers on explaining the reasoning behind design and technical decisions, with emphasis on trade-offs, constraints, user impact, and clear communication for varied audiences. Prior AI experience is not required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze product and design challenges and document decision-making rationale in clear, structured written English.
  • Draft and refine design documents, usability reports, research summaries, RFCs, ADRs, and related analytical materials.
  • Synthesize complex design and technical information into accessible, well-organized content for diverse audiences.
  • Evaluate design systems, particularly Figma workflows, accessibility considerations, and frontend architecture trade-offs.
  • Produce detailed user research reports with insights and actionable recommendations.
  • Assess design and engineering approaches, documenting advantages, limitations, and strategic implications.
  • Participate in structured reviews, providing expert commentary and feedback on submitted project artifacts.

Qualifications

  • At least 3 years of professional experience in product design, UX, UI or visual design, or frontend engineering.
  • Experience with JavaScript or TypeScript, React, or comparable frontend frameworks.
  • Demonstrated ability to create high-quality written deliverables, such as design documentation, case studies, design-system documentation, usability reports, RFCs, or ADRs.
  • Strong product design, UX design and user research, UI and visual design, and Figma design-system skills.
  • Deep familiarity with accessibility best practices.
  • Excellent analytical writing, attention to detail, and ability to communicate complex or nuanced information clearly.
  • Experience explaining and justifying technical or design trade-offs in writing for stakeholders.
  • A background with leading universities or highly regarded organizations is valued.

Work Terms

  • Remote contract engagement.
  • Primary work consists of analytical and explanatory written deliverables rather than execution-focused design or engineering work.

Compensation

  • $90 to $140 per hour.
