Role Overview
This role applies senior commercial operations and revenue planning experience to create, review, and evaluate high-quality commercial operating scenarios for an ad-supported media research engagement. You will convert incomplete financial and sales inputs into clear priorities, decisions, owners, and deadlines, challenge forecasts, and present executive-level recommendations. The engagement contributes training data for frontier AI systems and requires daily collaboration on a UK business-hours rhythm.
Key Responsibilities- Lead or support annual planning cycles and quarterly commercial planning, turning partial inputs into actionable plans.
- Run or contribute to quarterly business reviews and cross-functional performance discussions.
- Challenge revenue forecasts, identify risks, and recommend recovery or turnaround actions.
- Create clear priorities, owners, deadlines, and decision points from incomplete financial and sales data.
- Produce executive-level recommendations and presentations, and write clearly for leadership audiences.
- Work across finance, sales, and operations to establish and maintain operating cadence.
- Operate without formal authority over all functions, holding managers accountable through influence.
- Apply relevant experience from one or more ad-supported media business types, such as digital publishers, podcast or video networks, local or sports media, creator businesses, or ad-supported marketplaces.
- 6+ years of hands-on experience in revenue operations, commercial strategy, sales planning, or business operations.
- Documented experience personally leading annual planning cycles, quarterly business reviews, and cross-functional performance discussions.
- Proven ability to build realistic forecasts, challenge assumptions, and drive recovery actions when needed.
- Experience with commercial recovery or turnaround actions, and making executive-level recommendations.
- Comfortable holding managers accountable through influence rather than direct line authority.
- Strong written communication skills tailored to senior leadership.
- Experience at one or more of the following ad-supported media or advertising businesses: digital publishers, podcast or video networks, local media or sports media, creator businesses, or ad-supported marketplaces.
- Full-time engagement, running from 10 August 2026 to 4 September 2026.
- Hourly engagement, with a UK business-hours collaboration rhythm, including live team sessions each working day and occasional evening messages.
- Contributions feed into frontier AI training data for the client project.
- The project pays two weeks of garden leave at the end of the engagement, with a one month non-compete period running concurrently.
- Strong performance increases the likelihood of selection for future client projects.
- Hourly rate: 150 per hour.
- You must be based in the United Kingdom and have the legal right to work in the United Kingdom.
- The vetting process includes a resume and work history screen, followed by a short interview focused on commercial operations and planning expertise.
