About this role

Role Overview

This role applies senior commercial operations and revenue planning experience to create, review, and evaluate high-quality commercial operating scenarios for an ad-supported media research engagement. You will convert incomplete financial and sales inputs into clear priorities, decisions, owners, and deadlines, challenge forecasts, and present executive-level recommendations. The engagement contributes training data for frontier AI systems and requires daily collaboration on a UK business-hours rhythm.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead or support annual planning cycles and quarterly commercial planning, turning partial inputs into actionable plans.
  • Run or contribute to quarterly business reviews and cross-functional performance discussions.
  • Challenge revenue forecasts, identify risks, and recommend recovery or turnaround actions.
  • Create clear priorities, owners, deadlines, and decision points from incomplete financial and sales data.
  • Produce executive-level recommendations and presentations, and write clearly for leadership audiences.
  • Work across finance, sales, and operations to establish and maintain operating cadence.
  • Operate without formal authority over all functions, holding managers accountable through influence.
  • Apply relevant experience from one or more ad-supported media business types, such as digital publishers, podcast or video networks, local or sports media, creator businesses, or ad-supported marketplaces.
Qualifications
  • 6+ years of hands-on experience in revenue operations, commercial strategy, sales planning, or business operations.
  • Documented experience personally leading annual planning cycles, quarterly business reviews, and cross-functional performance discussions.
  • Proven ability to build realistic forecasts, challenge assumptions, and drive recovery actions when needed.
  • Experience with commercial recovery or turnaround actions, and making executive-level recommendations.
  • Comfortable holding managers accountable through influence rather than direct line authority.
  • Strong written communication skills tailored to senior leadership.
  • Experience at one or more of the following ad-supported media or advertising businesses: digital publishers, podcast or video networks, local media or sports media, creator businesses, or ad-supported marketplaces.
Work Terms
  • Full-time engagement, running from 10 August 2026 to 4 September 2026.
  • Hourly engagement, with a UK business-hours collaboration rhythm, including live team sessions each working day and occasional evening messages.
  • Contributions feed into frontier AI training data for the client project.
  • The project pays two weeks of garden leave at the end of the engagement, with a one month non-compete period running concurrently.
  • Strong performance increases the likelihood of selection for future client projects.
Compensation
  • Hourly rate: 150 per hour.
Eligibility and Application Process
  • You must be based in the United Kingdom and have the legal right to work in the United Kingdom.
  • The vetting process includes a resume and work history screen, followed by a short interview focused on commercial operations and planning expertise.
