About this role

Role Overview

Lead commercial planning and revenue decision making for a short-term research engagement supporting a frontier AI lab, creating and evaluating high-quality commercial operating scenarios drawn from hands-on experience in ad-supported media. You will translate incomplete financial and sales inputs into clear priorities, owners, deadlines, and executive-ready recommendations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create, review, and evaluate commercial operating scenarios and recovery plans informed by commercial strategy and revenue data.
  • Drive annual planning cycles, quarterly business reviews, and cross-functional performance discussions, turning fragmented inputs into decisions and action items.
  • Challenge and interrogate revenue forecasts, call out unsupported assumptions, and design turnaround or recovery actions when needed.
  • Hold managers and stakeholders accountable where required, influencing without formal authority.
  • Prepare clear, concise written and presentation materials for leadership audiences, including executive-level recommendations.
  • Participate in the project team cadence, including live team sessions each working day and occasional evening messages, aligned to UK business hours.
  • Contribute work that will be used as high-quality training data for frontier AI systems.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 6 years of professional experience in revenue operations, commercial strategy, sales planning, or business operations.
  • Demonstrated experience personally leading annual planning cycles, quarterly business reviews, and cross-functional performance conversations.
  • Proven ability to perform revenue forecasting, challenge forecast assumptions, and design commercial recovery or turnaround actions.
  • Track record preparing executive-level recommendations and presentations, and operating cadence across finance, sales, and operations.
  • Comfortable influencing stakeholders without direct authority and writing clearly for senior leadership.
  • Experience at one or more ad-supported media businesses, for example:
    • Digital publishers
    • Podcast or video networks
    • Local media or sports media
    • Creator businesses
    • Ad-supported marketplaces
Work Terms
  • Engagement type: full-time, short-term engagement running from 10 August 2026 to 4 September 2026.
  • Location: remote work, with the project team operating on a UK business-hours rhythm and daily live team sessions.
  • Schedule: daily live collaboration each working day, plus occasional evening messages.
  • End-of-engagement provisions: two weeks of garden leave paid at the end of the engagement, with a one month non-compete period running concurrently.
  • Successful contributors are more likely to be selected for future projects.
Compensation
  • Employment type: hourly.
  • Rate: 150 - 150 hourly.
